The first eleven reached the semi final stage of the
Durham County FA Trophy competition for the first time with a late 3-2 win
at home to Sunderland Belford House. The victory was even sweeter
following Belford’s win over ‘Ford at the same stage last season. James
Maccoy put the home side ahead after only 9 minutes but the visitors hit back
with two goals before the break. Richards Stubbs pulled ‘Ford level from the
penalty spot after sub Jack Lawton was fouled in the 86th minute and
Lawton clinched the tie after being put through by Anth Cook in the final
minute.
Rutherford Reserves maintained their 100% Corinthians
League record with a 5-2 home win over Chemfica ‘A’. But
the Reds had to do it the hard way after coming from 0-2 down at the interval.
Graeme Troughton was the star of the show with four second half counters.
Mark Pae hit ‘Ford’s other goal.
The senior men ‘A’ team hammered Philosophers United
for the second week running, this time bettering last weekend’s score by one in
a 12-1 hammering of the Newcastle side. Jamie Ridley hit
three and there were other goals form Shaun Todhunter [2], David Grant [2],
Neil Winchester, Danny Milnes, Jason Sherlock, David Clark and Simon Hill.
