Rutherford Ladies v CLS Waldridge Park Ladies

Today we played our first league game of the 2018-2019 season. Faced with a strong squad of 20 players the challenge to select a team came with a huge headache.

The game started much as it finished seeing us with the majority of possession, playing some terrific football and creating excellent chances. As a team we played fantastic today. Our opponents battled for the entire 90 minutes but didn't get a look in at goal due to the team brilliant ability and willingness to retain possession of the ball.

The score line of 8-0 saw some tremendous finishes from Turnball [2], Robinson [2], Campbell, Armstrong, Scott and Fairbairn.

Player of the match today was awarded to Clift for her outstanding performance throughout 90 minutes of the game. She was playing a brand new position and did a marvellous job. Great things to come from this young player.

A terrific opening game for the season ahead, seeing confidence ouse throughout the team, let's hope this is a sign of things to come.
