Today we played at our home ground against league opponents Bishop Auckland Ladies Development. The pitch was nice and soft from the rain the previous day and the weather seemed perfect for a game of football.
We started the game very strong pressuring at our opponents goal from our first piece of play. It was only 5 minutes into play that we managed to convert our first goal of the game seeing a tremendous cross in from hardworking Wilson finding winger Armstrong who fired the ball crashing past the Bishop keeper. This goal was only the beginning seeing us net another six times in the first half with some tremendous finishes. Both Wilson and Turnball bagging themselves a hattrick which was fantastic to see.
The second half we took our foot off the gas and began enjoying the football. We played some tremendous style of team play seeing excellent passing and moving from every player both on and off the ball. We also managed to score another two fabulous goals seeing Scott bag herself a well deserved brace.
Player of the match today was awarded to hardworking winger Armstrong for her fantastic performance both on the right and left wing. She created lots of excellent chances, assisted two goals and even got herself on the score sheet which is beginning to become a regular occurrence.
Another fantastic display of football by the team and seeing us once again play with respect to our opponents and playing football rather than bombarding the goals past them.
Well done Ladies!!!
