Today we faced Washington AFC Development Ladies at home in our second last league game of the season. We had a few players missing including our keeper but the girls were determined to finish as strong as we started.
We got off to a great start seeing Scott and Wilson each bag themselves a goal and an assist within 12 minutes of play. Washington reacted well to this and found two goals quickly equalising the score line. The team knew they needed to step up the tempo and that they did. Between the 27th minute and the final whistle of the first half we netted another three goals from Fairbairn, Montgomery and Murray.
The girls had a well earned break and headed back out to finish the game. The second half seen another array of goals from the home side seeing Scott earn herself a double brace and Murray finding the score sheet again too. Washington got one back in the dyer minutes of the game but the girls were more than happy with a 10-3 win.
Player of the match was awarded to hardworking and skilful player Murray who was key in setting up play and a rock in midfield throughout the whole game.
A great 3 points against a very much improved Washington side. Well done Ladies.
