A good and impressive start to the season as a strong performance saw us win deservedly.
We started the brighter of the two and could have done better with a couple of shots that were off target. But then the visitors took the lead as a long ball over the top caught us out and their forward scored. This was nearly doubled a few moments later but we learnt out lesson.
2nd half was dominated by us as we created umpteen chances and new signing Nikki Langston won a penalty with his first touch. This was scored by Rob Jefferson and was soon followed by Dan Fullen's thumping header to make it 2-1.
Charlie lamb and Fullen also had other chances to extend thelead after some very exciting build up play.
We held on comfortably although Gateshead hit the post late on, but it reality we created far more chances than them.
