Today we played away to Silksworth on their 3G pitch. The wind was extremely strong today which was bound to have a huge impact on the game.
We started slow and struggled to keep possession of the ball, seeing sloppy passes around the pitch making the game hard for ourselves. Finally around the 25th minute of play something clicked and the football being played become terrific, we began creating excellent chances and eventually in the 30th minute we managed to convert seeing Robinson score that crucial goal set up sublimely by Turnball. This goal boosted the whole team and seen us go onto score another two well finished goals from Andrews and Robinson giving her a brace.
The second half started much better than the first seeing us gain the upper hand from the first whistle. The team played some tremendous football right from the goalkeeper to the back four through to the midfield and on to the strikers. This play was key in creating chance after chance at goal and seeing us successful on five of those occasions with goals from Turnball (2), Robinson, Andrews and Montgomery.
Player of the match today was awarded to Andrews for her brilliant performance and work rate from start to finish. She was a rock within midfield winning almost every ball and really drove the team on to keep going for the entire 90 minutes seeing us finish the game on a huge high.
Overall the game was a great display of football seeing the team create excellent chances and work as a team despite the strong winds. Another fantastic three points well deserved.
Well done ladies.
