The girls faced Chester Amazons yesterday in their 4th league game of the season.
The team were strong and physical and give us a very good game. They took the lead first in the 20th minute of play on the counter from our attack. We equalised on the 39th minute after constantly attacking seeing a tremendous cross in from Rachel finding Jo who beat the keeper slipping in the bottom left hand corner.
We went into the half time break 1-1.
The second half saw another good battle between both sides but with a lot more creative play from our team. We hit the post, seeing it bounce on the line but the keeper got her hands to it before we could get it across the line, this was just one of our close chances. Chester's centre half played a blinder and really kept our chances out. Once again against the run of play Chester broke and scored their second goal of the game in the 74th minute.
The remainder of the game saw us bombard at Chester's goal but it appeared once again luck was not on our side and the game ended 2-1 to Chester Amazons.
Player of the match today was awarded to Stephanie for her fantastic effort and performance from start to finish.
A tough and well battled game with some very controversial decisions from the match official that impacted on the game but the girls are battling hard and showing they arent a push over in this new league. Well done ladies ⚽️
