Today we played our 4th and final friendly in preparation for the league starting next week. We faced Heddon UTD Ladies at home who compete in the Northumberland County League.

The game started really well seeing us score our first goal of the game after just 5 minutes of play. Charlene won the ball out on the right wing, she played it through to Crid but an opposition player stole the ball, crid ran towards the player challenging for the ball seeing her win it. She was just passed the half way line where she spotted a chance at goal, she struck the ball sending it straight over the keepers head and putting us in the lead... brilliant vision and execution for the goal. Less than 2 minutes later she reinacted almost the exact same goal this time with a brilliant pass played through from Robyn.

The whole team were very much on top of the game, seeing some excellent team play all over the pitch. In the 13th minute of play our stand in goal keeper for today's match Charlie took her goal keeper aiming for Crid who was in acres of space. For the third time Crid struck the ball and lobbed our opposition keeper. Another tremendous finish. 6 minutes later our 4th goal was scored, this time by Mel who received the ball taking on numerous opposition players and finally beating the keeper with a top right hand corner finish. Another superb goal.

The goals didn't finish there for this half seeing an assist for Mel finished by Crid in the 27th minute and a superb corner from Charlene on 29 minutes headed into the goal by Mel. This give us a 6 goal lead. Hardworking Ellie entered a challenge with a Heddon player but the referee awarded a freekick in Heddons favour, seemed an unfair decision especially considering Heddon scored from it. It was a well taken free kick by the Heddon player, very well executed.

The second half started very much like the first, a goal after only 5 minutes of play. The striking duo once again, seeing Mel create and Crid finish with ease. 5 minutes later Mel worked the ball into the box beating numerous Heddon players, Robyn made a tremendous run into the box, Mel played through a perfect pass seeing Robyn strike the ball beating the keeper. The team continued to play some tremendous football which in turn created numerous chances at goal. In the 62nd minute a sublime corner from Crid saw Dingle head the ball into the back of the net. 4 minutes later Robyn stole the ball from a thrown in and beat the keeper for the second time in the game. Less than a minute after this well deserved goal for Robyn, skilful striker Crid stole the ball from the opposition right from the kick off, she travelled all the way to the goal beating numerous opposition players on the way and sent the ball crashing past the Heddon keeper. This put the score at 11-1. Surely the goals were over now? The answer is no, in the last minute of the game captain Steph who was having a spout up front played through a great ball to Mel, she spotted the ball past the keeper with ease finishing the game 12-1.

Player of the match was awarded to Robyn for her 100% effort from start to finish, she grafted hard the entire time on the pitch and managed to bag herself two superb and well deserved goals too.

Overall, another brilliant team performance putting the girls in good stead for the league beginning next week. Huge well done to the whole team on an unreal preseason.
