Today we played away to Boldon Ladies. The game started well for us seeing our first chance converted after just 2 minutes of play. It was a long goal kick from Charlie saw the ball headed on by striker Mel. Striking partner Zarr ran towards the ball challenging the keeper and sending the ball crashing over the line.
A few minutes later in the 7th minute of play another attack by the team saw Zarr taken out in the box and a penalty awarded. Zarr took the penalty seeing it strike the cross bar and bounce back out, the Boldon defender got to it before she could get the rebound shot off.
On the 11th minute of play keeper Charlie plays a long ball forward to striker Zarr who receives the ball taking a lovely touch and sends the ball in the bottom left hand corner from around 20 yards out.
The remainder of the half saw us create many chances at goal but with no reward due to good defending and keeper saves by the Boldon side.
The second half saw Boldon get more on top of the game and scoring their first goal in the 51st minute. We fought back hard seeing a battle between the two sides. Boldon were awarded a corner on the 89th minute seeing a header at the back post meant the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Player of the match today was awarded to Zarr for her excellent work rate for the entire 90 minutes and scoring two great goals. She was a constant headache for the opponents.. well done Zarr was great to have you back on the pitch.
Overall, not a great team performance but the girls tried hard being unfortunate in some of the referees decisions but worked hard throughout.
