Today we travelled away to Hebburn Town Juniors tonight in the last of our mid week games. This was the second time in less than a week the two teams met.

The game started well for us seeing the players pass the ball around and create a few chances at goal. Hebburn battled back hard and a really good game of football between the sides was seen.

Hebburns keeper was extremely strong and we knew we had to get right in the bottom corners for any chance to beat him. He pulled off a number of great saves on well placed chances from us meaning we entered the half with a 0-0 draw.

The second half we started even stronger than the first and were straight at our opponents goal creating chances. We won corner after corner due to the constant pressure. One of these was taken by hardworking striker Mason in the 35th minute. Mason played in a superb ball towards the penalty spot area. Hardworking defender Johnathon ran in striking the ball on his first touch sending it crashing into the bottom left hand corner of the goal. Their keeper done brilliant to get to it but didn't quite get enough to keep it out giving us the lead for the first time in the game.

The kids continued to soldier on looking for the second goal. We had a superb chance in the 50th minute with a cracking run with the ball to the byline by Liam which he crossed in finding Mason. Mason struck the ball but somehow the Hebburn keeper kept it out. The game finished 1-0 to us. A well earned 3 points against a strong Hebburn side.

Overall, a tough game of football against a strong side where the kids once again rose to the challenge and excelled themselves.
