Rutherford bounced back to form in impressive style, securing a 4-1 victory over Sunderland West End Blacks in a match that highlighted the team's depth and tactical discipline.

The first half saw Rutherford dictate play, with excellent passing patterns and positional discipline, which was further helped by the spacious pitch. Although there is room for improvement, particularly in midfield and during set pieces (especially throw-ins), Rutherford showed significant improvements in their overall game.

The opening goal came from Max Billingham, who made a perfectly timed run to beat the offside trap, finishing calmly after a brilliant through ball from James Lee. Rutherford doubled their lead when Max turned provider, laying a perfect assist for Joe, who unleashed one of his trademark long-range shots to make it 2-0 at the break.

In the second half, Rutherford’s strength in depth came to the fore as two of the four goals were netted by "Game Changers." Jacob opened the scoring in the second half with a brilliant finish from a well-weighted Michael through ball. Michael then grabbed Rutherford's fourth goal, set up by none other than Max Billingham, who was involved in every aspect of the attack.

Notable individual performances included Joseph Fenton, who was lively throughout the match, and Elliott and Amir, who retained possession with ease. James and Joe were consistently dangerous on the wings, while Michael and Fin produced several excellent through balls. In particular, Mason's stellar last 15 minutes were pivotal; he won every tackle and completed every pass, providing stability as Sunderland pressed forward with the wind at their backs.

Max Billingham was deservedly named Man of the Match for his goal and two assists, showing improved movement in behind and great link-up play. He could have easily scored more, but his all-around performance was exceptional. A special mention also goes to Sam, who once again excelled in the difficult task of man-marking the opposition's danger man. Sam’s quickness, aggression, bravery, and composure on the ball were crucial in giving Rutherford a solid foundation to build on, making him a standout once again.

Overall, an excellent performance from Rutherford, who demonstrated their strength in depth, tactical awareness, and clinical finishing to secure a deserved victory.
