Game week 6 and we took on hebburn, a team who beat us last time we were in division 4.

Hebburn started the faster team scoring in just 12 seconds! We took control of the game shortly after and manager out first goal at 5 and a half minutes in when joe scored with an assist from Charlie. 3 minutes later Mikey was switched on and pinched a mis placed pass and slotted past the keeper. Going into half time 2-1 after going down so early give the lads a little boost.
3 minutes into the second half, Charlie again playing the ball across the box to Joseph who made it 3. Our passing and movement was really working out for us at this point and we were pulling the hebburn players apart, we were unlucky on a couple occasions not to hit the net. But on the 25th minute joe managed his second from a great thru ball from a very composed jack grey and made it 4-1. Final score 4-1 Rutherford.

Brilliant all around performance from the team today.

Jack Steele - was unfortunate again not to keep a clean sheet (it’s coming) but made some important saves to keep us in the game.

Lewis - another clean sheet made a couple saves but had another easy day in the office.

Finlay - another solid performance at the back.

Jack Grey - again another great defensive performance, managed to get himself an assist today showing how well he can play the ball.

Charlie - another great game getting 2 assists. Poor lad couldn’t score today, not for lack of trying!

Jacob - carrying on from previous weeks his passing, movement and confidence is growing week by week.

Joe - on top form again, hitting the net twice. Another who was unfortunate not to bag a couple more.

Mikey - his team play is coming on so much lately, managed a goal today and was a real bully to the opposition.

Joseph - todays MOTM. Managed a well taken goal and was a little work horse, first to push on the attack and first to get back and defend when needed. We’ll done Joseph.

Another brilliant team performance from the lads today. Onto Hilda Park next week and we owe them a stuffing after our pre season friendly.
