Football is back! Which means only one thing…. My blood pressure is shooting up! And today was no exception, the game had a bit of everything. Good goals, bad goals, played winning their personal battles, players putting in a performance in unfamiliar positions, couple of near fist fights and some impressive saves.

First half we got caught out early on ball watching and they slipped one past us, from then it was mostly us and if it wasn’t for a mixture of good and lucky saves we’d have been infront, until their keeper played a ball out of his hands and we got caught out with the bounce and they striker got onto the end of it.

Second half was no different from the first, all us and only their keeper keeping them in the game, it wasn’t long before we got on the board with a well worked kick in from Joe A onto the foot of Joseph Brannan. This spurred us on and we looked dangerous, shot after shot. We levelled the field with Joe A winning the ball and driving it home.

Final score 2-2 another 5 minutes and we’d have been ahead, I think I hit every emotion on the sideline today! It was a really good performance from each and every player!

Jack S - cool and composed in goal, nothing he could have done with the goals, distribution today was top notch.

Finlay - our rock at the back, played as a lone defender today and wine practically everything.

Jack G - yet another top tier game from him, both in defence and midfield.another who won everything.

Joseph Brannan - grafter away today, got his goal and nearly set up a few. Did a job out of position as a lone defender.

Joe A - found the goal again! Seemed confident again today, was unfortunate not to bag 3 or 4 for his efforts today, the post is still shaking!

Chester - really good today, dangerous and won practically everything in the middle.

Mikey - back to the Mikey of old, dangerous up top, solid at the bag. Won everything.

Lewis - came close once again, great all around performance and ball play.

Theo - had it tough today, their left winger was a handful but he dealt with him, was unfortunate not to get his goal today too!

Tommy - fantastic first league game, you can see he’s going to be a handful. Nearly slipped the keeper with his left foot! Had a couple saved / wide.

Joseph Collins - today’s MOTM, won everything, played in the middle and really got a taste for it. Nearly grabbed a couple goals for his efforts, as anyone looking at his dad may well have seen him already cartwheeling!
