After a couple of tough weeks and results we spoke about making changes, one of them being reverting back to the 2-3-1 the kids know and are comfortable with. The other was to make 2 changes every 7 minutes instead of 4 changes at 12.5.
The last few weeks in training the boys have been working hard on playing the ball, keeping possession and not hoofing it in a panic. To a player today they did that and we had the lions share of the ball, keeping leam out of the game, leam who have had a cracking start to the season only losing 1 game and winning 4 comfortably.
As for the change of subs, I think it kept the game flowing but a massive headache for me and Jordan, mainly because the lads were so good today. Me and Jordan spend 5 and a half minutes on the phone, opposite ends trying to work it out and we still owe player’s minutes.
Jack G - solid and calm at the back today, had his work cut out but more than held his own.
Finlay - powerhouse today, put his pace to good use and his passing was 10/10.
Joseph Collins - very calm on the ball today. Won some big tackles and put some dangerous balls in.
Joe A - little dynamo today and created little pieces of magic, was unfortunate not to bag a goal.
Theo - had his work cut out today with their speedy wingers, ball forward were dangerous all game.
Lewis - little terrier again, hustling more and more on the ball.
Mikey - solid in defence and dangerous going forward. Washington unfortunate not to get himself a goal.
Joseph b - game changer today, got the goal that made the difference, dangerous all game and never gave up possession.
Chester - absolute bully today, had the leam defence tied in knots. Very unlucky not to his the back of the net, caused them nothing but problems.
Tommy - growing week by week, and getting more and more involved. Unlucky with a couple chances today.
Jack S - today’s MOTM and well deserved. First clean sheet for 33 games, he’s kept us in games a lot lately and when called upon today he didn’t disappoint.
Me and Jordan are very happy coming away today, we played football and we played it well. We covered well and we took responsibility, something which we’ve lacked lately.
Well done boys and onto the next one.
